Dr. Mohamad Meky is an adjunct professor for the Master of Science in Data Science program at Southern Methodist University. Dr. Meky has a PhD, MSc, and BSc in electrical engineering and a graduate certificate in cyber security. He has over 20 years of teaching and industrial experience in EE/IT/CS/Cyber security fields. The industrial experience helps introduce practical issues and solutions to his students – while teaching allows Meky to read educational books and publications that help map the theoretical study into industrial life.

Dr. Meky has taught courses in telecommunications, system administration, computer language programming, Unix scripting, networking, and other technology courses. His current focus is in teaching and conducting research in the cyber security field.
