Dr. Anthony Tanaydin is a leading advocate and teacher of Statistics, Six Sigma and data-based decision making. Anthony conducts mentoring, consulting, and training in problem-solving, Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Data Science and Statistics to professionals. He is a LSS Master Black Belt (LSS MBB) with a twenty-year industrial and academic track record in Data Science, Lean Six Sigma, Statistics, Quality and Reliability Consulting.
Dr. Tanaydin received an M.S. and a Ph.D. in statistics from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. As a faculty member at Ankara, Purdue and Oregon State Universities, Dr. T. taught Six Sigma, quality control, computer programming, mathematics, and applied statistics courses. He is currently an adjunct professor at SMU data science in addition to his daytime job at PepsiCo global R&D as the Sr. Principle Data Scientist MBB in Plano, TX. He provides consulting, training and mentoring to project teams and personnel in critical (analytical) thinking, and problem-solving.
Prior to joining PepsiCo, he worked with Honeywell as the principal statistician and LSS MBB. He was the founding member of LodeStar Institute specializing in dissemination and implementation of statistical principles and data-based management methodologies. He worked as the executive VP of operations excellence and principal statistician consultant of LSI. Anthony worked as a Master Black Belt Statistician for SAS Institute after his tenure with Hewlett-Packard. He enjoyed multiple positions at the printer, server, and inkjet divisions of Hewlett Packard including Principal Statistician, Business Strategist responsible for a $20B business segment, Quality Tracking Program Manager.
Combining state-of-the-art theory and real-world experience, Anthony has provided training and consulting nationally and internationally to over 4,000 managers, scientists, engineers and technicians from R&D and Manufacturing, customer support to Marketing. He has helped organizations add millions of dollars to their bottom lines. He has coached and mentored executives, managers, and teams regarding statistical thinking and positive process improvement methods to achieve business success.
He previously served on the Board of Baldrige National Quality, as programs chair of American Society for Quality and the president of Purdue Alumni Association SE.
